This meticulously detailed miniature painting depicts the exterior of Piccadilly Theatre in London last summer, after the matinee for Guys and Dolls let out. It was a great show, starring the names written across the marquee:
Ewan McGregor, Jane Krakowski, Douglas Hodge, and Jenna Russell
I was fascinated by all the little details in this snapshot, from the architecture to the individual people milling about in the street. I may paint a larger version of this scene someday.
This cityscape painting is so incredibly detailed for such a small size. I've included a photo below of the painting being held in my hand, to provide a sense of scale.
